  • Adjustment Disorder

    An unusual long-lasting reaction to an upsetting event or change. For example: divorce, breakups, relationship problems, death of a family member or friend, moving (new home, city, state or country). The focus is to help the individual achieve a level of functioning comparable to what they demonstrated prior to the stressful event.

  • Anger Disorder / IED

    Anger / Intermittent Explosive Disorder is a behavioral outburst that is out of proportion to the situation. For example: impulsive shouting, screaming, aggression, hostility, violent verbal and /or physical behavior(s) towards self or others. The focus is help the individual learn how to manage stressful life circumstances more successfully.

  • Anxiety Disorders

    Feelings of worry, panic, fear that are strong enough to interfere with daily life. For example: stress that’s out of proportion to the impact of the event, restlessness or inability to set aside worries. The focus is to help the individual development coping and problem-solving skills to manage worries/ fears.

  • Childhood Trauma

    Experiences that classify as psychological trauma, such as: neglect, abandonment, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and physical abuse, or witnessing abuse of a sibling or parent, or having a mentally ill parent.

  • Communication

    Communication involves culturally constructed verbal and nonverbal behavior, which is often not conscious and varies between cultures. Individuals’ perceptions of communication are at least partially determined by one’s own culture, which influences both the sender and receiver. Communicative processes are directly influenced by the situation and feelings of all parties involved.

  • Grief and Loss

    A normal response to loss during or after a disaster, traumatic event, death, divorce, unemployment, illness or a drastic change to daily routines. The Focus is to help individuals cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, cognitive response to loss.

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

    OCD - individuals experience obsessive, intrusive, repetitive thoughts and feel compelled to repeat behaviors. The focus is to encourage the individual to confront their obsessions and resist urges to carry out compulsions behaviors.

  • Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD)

    OCPD - individuals may be excessively focused on order and perfection. The focus is to lessen rigid expectations and learn to value close relationships and enjoy life with less emphasis on work and productivity.
